Thailand launched various strict COVID-19 control measures on Tuesday (14/9) in preparation for the resumption of face-to-face school activities in schools.
Known as the Sandbox Safety Zone in School (SSS), the initiative was jointly developed by the ministries of education and public health. The measures aim to create safe zones in educational institutions once they are allowed to resume operations on-site.
Launching Channel News Asia, Wednesday (15/9/2021), many schools in Thailand have remained closed for several months due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The Ministry of Health is fully aware that it is important for students to go to school as usual as it affects their interactions among themselves and their interactions with the community. In addition, there are many activities that children cannot fully learn online,” said Dr Suwanchai Watthanayingcharoenchai, Director General of the Ministry of Health, in a press conference.
However, on-site learning is expected to resume in the second half of November as the government plans to vaccinate 4.5 million children aged between 12 and 17 next month.
The Difference of Each Zone
Under the SSS initiative, educational institutions will be categorized according to the severity of transmission in their respective provinces, from green to yellow, orange, red and dark red. Each category will require different COVID-19 control measures.
This includes requirements for educational institutions to assess their readiness for on-site education based on guidelines provided by the Ministry of Health and to conduct learning activities in small groups.
Those sensasi bermain togel online in high-risk zones like Bangkok will need to have a rapid COVID-19 antigen test once or twice per week. They are also required to issue school permits to every student, teacher and education staff for screening and monitoring purposes.
"The school card will contain information such as their personal risk assessment, their rapid antigen test results, vaccination records or a one to three month medical history if they have been infected before," said Dr Suwanchai from the Ministry of Health.
