5 Smart Ways To Use Your Wall Mounted Ironing Board

We all know how rare and luxurious living in a spacious apartment can be. And for us commoners it isn’t something we can easily afford. So, we nest in smaller yet comfortable homes. And trust us, these non-spacious apartments are equally good as long as we know how to manage to live in tight spaces. All it takes is a creative mind, some DIY skills, and smart brains to utilize the same set of assets/furniture for multiple purposes.

And when I say multi-purpose furniture, I mean a lot more than just transformable tables, beds, and seating. You probably did not see this coming but, the wall-mounted ironing board lying in your laundry room can pass as multifunctional furniture too. Here I have compiled 5 smart ways to use your wall-mounted ironing board.

Smart Ideas to Use Wall Mounted Ironing Boards

Efficient usage of the available resources is one of the defining traits of a great homemaker. One who’s an efficient homemaker wouldn’t hesitate to experiment and explore smart ways to use his furniture. A quality ironing center can be used for lots more purposes than just ironing clothes. By the end of this article, you’d be surprised to find the number of ways in which you can use an ironing station.

And relax, I wouldn’t count ironing apparel as a smart way to use an ironing center because that’s what it is made for. There’d be no point in counting ironing clothes as a smart way to use an ironing board. Read through to discover what

1. Home Office Centre

So, the first smart way to put your ironing board into use is to create a foldable home office center. When the pandemic hit our lives last year, the majority of us were forced to work from home. Not that I complain but, we all needed the right platform to feel comfortable while working.

That’s when I realized that I can resort to my wall-mounted ironing board. All I would need is to open my ironing center, arrange a chair before it and get on to work. It’d save me quite some fortune and I wouldn’t have to worry about creating space to arrange a new office desk.

2. Food Station

For a very long time, we have used kitchen countertops as ironing centers. How about we switch things vice-versa?

If your kitchen lacks space, consider mounting your wall-mounted ironing board near the kitchen. There you can use the board as an ironing center as well as a food station.

3. Foldable Study Table

Sometimes I wonder, if I can use my ironing board as a convertible home office, why can’t I let it be a study table for my kids?

And I think I am right about that. Letting our kids find their ‘do not disturb study zone’ on the ironing board affixed to that corner can’t be as bad of an idea.

4. Bedroom Bench

You’ve got some furniture shopping to do?

Wait a second. If it is about purchasing a new ironing station because the old one is too outdated, you need to read this. Not that I’d stop you from purchasing a new one. But I’d most certainly suggest you modify the old one into something new and useful like a bedroom bench.

Yes, I’m talking about the same bench arranged at the feet of your bed. Just grab some tools and flaunt your DIY skills.

5. Shelf Cover

Who likes living in a modular interior that has closets and shelves without doors?

I bet you don’t. You can use the wall-mounted ironing board to conceal your shelf that holds ironing supplies like the spray bottle, starch spray, hangers, and the iron, of course.
