To start your journey on the decentralised art platform of BOTTO, you have to follow 5 simple steps. The steps include opening an Ethereum wallet, understanding ether, getting your Botto tokens, stacking and lastly voting.
1. Ethereum Wallet
Botto is an artificial intelligence artist that operates on the mechanism of cryptocurrency. The operation of BOTTO is based on the blockchain of Ethereum. So, it's a prerequisite to have an Ethereum wallet.
Steps to open an Ethereum wallet
• Install MetaMask: Begin by downloading and installing the MetaMask browser extension.
• Setup Wallet: When the new browser tab opens click on “GET STARTED”. Then find the “Create a wallet” option in the interface. You will be redirected to a page to set the password. Your account will be ready once you accept the “terms of use”.
• Backup Wallet: It is important to have a Backup wallet to restore the original wallet and keep your funds safe. Download the “Secret Backup Phrase” after you have set the wallet. Transfer the secret backup phrase to an external hard drive.
• Receiving Funds: Ethereum address is essential for accessing and receiving Ethereum assets and Botto tokens, respectively. You can copy your Ethereum address by clicking on the MetaMask icon on the browse extension. Copy your address from “Account 1”.
2. Ether (ETH)
Ether is the cryptocurrency of Ethereum. After setting the Ethereum wallet you will need Ether for a smooth interaction in Botto.com. Ether will cover your network interaction in the blockchain of Botto. You can get Ether via two methods:
• Coinbase: Coinbase is one of the best cryptocurrency exchange mediums. Users can easily trade, buy and sell cryptocurrencies on Coinbase. To get Ether is to create an account on Coinbase and deposit regular fiat currency (like dollars or euros) into your Coinbase account. Then, you'll be able to convert that fiat into Ether, which you can then transfer to your Ethereum wallet.
• Transak (Bank & Card): Tranksak helps in the exchange of Dollars or Euros (fiat money) for cryptocurrencies. You can get Ether in exchange for fiat currency. You simply need to the website of Tranksak and enter the fiat amount. Select the required cryptocurrency and opt for bank transfer or card payment.
3. Botto Tokens
Botto tokens are required for stake when you for your favourite art piece. Botto tokens are the cryptocurrency of Botto. Uniswap is the site to get your hands on Botto tokens. This automated market maker helps you to exchange your Ether for Botto tokens.
4. Staking
Staking is nothing but depositing. When you vote for your favourite art fragment, you stake (deposit) on Botto. Voting points are generated when you stake. This gradually influences the art form of Botto.
5. Voting
Voting is the driving factor of Botto. The Bottom algorithm depends on the community votes. The votes on art pieces influence the algorithm of Botto algorithm. This in turn changes the art on Botto.
Art pieces will be displayed on your screen and you will have to vote for your favourite art piece. These art pieces are otherwise known as art fragments when put for voting.
Each vote per art fragment will cost “1 Voting Point” (VP). Voting points can be altered by adjusting the weightage of the vote. You get a gift of 100VP for the first stake on Botto.
