How important are “Appealing Factors”?
The readership of a blog is often closely related to the blog’s appealingnss. A blog that has great appealing factors often has great following of loyal readers. Sad to say, most blogs out there do not have the necessary appealing factors to attract and retain their readers.

Choose a simple, but nice template for your blog. Make sure that it looks clean and neat. A messy blog (blog with too many stuffs in every corner of the page) often turns people off. There are lots of nice and free template around, just Google it.
Blog content
The last thing you want to post on your blog is the mundane and boring stuffs that will put people to sleep. Instead, post useful tips and tricks, valuable guide, or even focus group discussion that are benefical to your readers. In addition, be very focus in your content. If your blog is about dog, never ever talk about cat.
Category and Timeline
Categorise and add timeline to all your posts. This will allow your readers to navigate through your archive easily. Always keep in mind that most readers are lazy. Anything that require them to click more than 3 times will always make them click away from your blog.

Subscription Availability
Some of your readersmight not have the time to visit your blog regularly. A good way to retain them is to provide them a mean to read your post without visiting your site. Comment Moderation
Allowing your readers to leave comment on your blog is a good way for you to interact with them. However, take extra precaution to prevent spamming. Always moderate all the comments; allow only useful, highly interactive comments.

Advertisement gives a negative feeling to your readers. Be careful not to place excessive advertisement all over your blog. Allocate a small section either at the top or at the sidebar of the blog for advertisement.
Author Biography
Connect with your readers by giving a self biography in the “About” page. It will add more credibility to your blog. When people know whose blog they are reading or who they are interacting with, they will feel more connected.
Blogrolling
Blogrolling gives you more visibility. Participate actively in the blogging community and exchange links with other bloggers. Having a incoming link from reputable blogger is like giving a vote of confidence to your reader.
