"Yes"
She looks at him. His eyes spoke of how alcohol consumed him instead. She withdrew her gaze from his eyes as she feels herself being intoxicated.
"I don't have anything to say" he said, stammering
"What is making you sit here like a dolt and ruining yourself? Grow up Ruhan" she was agitated this time,
It's been just a few months that she had known him, yet she was so connected to him that their bond spoke of a tale ineffable.
"My life Sneha, my own damn..."
"Ruhan"
He was on the floor losing all of himself yet he smiled at her. Sneha gulped down the growing pain in her as she picks him up with the help of the few others sitting around there. Do they have a painful story too which made them come here? Are they people with similar people? She thought as she handles to take him to her car,
"Sneha I...I loved her, she is in me like this.. alcohol which is burning me from within and soothing at the same time"
She took the driver's seat and took a look at him. He closed his eyes still blabbering on something,
"I love you Ruhan" she sighed whispering close to him,
"I love...you....Shonali"
She sighs. The engine starts as she takes him to her apartment at the dead of the night. She was thankful to him that though drunk, he at least made a call to her, and it was then that she traced him out there.
She managed to send him to the room next to hers with the help of her maid and asked him to leave. Rehan was already asleep by then as she sat near him. Holding his hand in hers she whispered close to him.
"I really didn't realize when you came in like this. You occupied a space in my heart which is something out of the words. I can never explain anything about how I feel for you but..."
She saw him shift a bit as she kissed his forehead and stood up to leave.
"Shonali" he held her hand while she turns back
"I love you" he speaks up
"I love you too"
Sneha sighs as she walks out.
Reaching her room all she did was to revisit those memories when Ruhan entered her life like a sunny day in a winter's chilled evenings. He was all too different, she was in love with his charm that spoke of a different tale to her. Sneha didn't even realize when he fell in love with Shonali and when exactly did SHE fell for him.
"I love someone" he said one day, Sneha could feel all those goosebumps as he said so. Before the butterflies in her tummy could actually fly he burnt them all,
"I love Shonali"
It was since that day that Sneha turned into his best friend and Shonali his life. It did torture her for quite some time but today when she saw Ruhan after years this was all that she could see.
..........
"Good morning"
Ruhan shifted a bit and looks at her, she smiled standing with a tray full with all his favorite things put in an array,
"Sneha I..."
"I brought you here Rehan wake up go and freshen up " she said,
He nodded looking baffled as he came back in a moment. By then there was his breakfast ready which he didn't bother to have for a month or two,
"Sneha this"
"I know you don't have anything but Ruhan it's all for you and you need something to make you strong"
"But Sneha I really don't want to please"
"Start with this"
She handed him a lemonade. He sighed gulping it down in one go.
"Pill?" He asked astounded
"I know you are having a headache have this"
He was amused at how she was this protective for him. She sat next to him while he held her hand. Sneha looked on at him this time,
"Why? Why are you doing this? I mean what's the point when you have your own life. You are even getting married to someone, you have a person in your life and even then you brought me here and doing all this stuff? What's the bond we share that's making you do this? Just tell me I will end it right away" he said,
She smiled withdrawing her hand from his hold she spoke up this time with some deep emotions he failed to understand
"Its a bond that's beyond love, I may never name it but it's connected deep in me, in the roots of my heart like forever, I won't name it because this is a tale not every person will understand, a telepathy which is understood by just the two of us. I don't think it needs a name, it's beautiful this way in its own way, something tethered to my breaths"
She leaves this time, neither of them spoke anything this time, yet their hearts knew well. Everything by heart..
