A LETTER TO THE LOST "YOU"..

How long had it been?
Since you took a step to decipher
The existence of your new self
Who is none but a murderer
Of the one you were back then?

How long had it been?
Since you stretched your wings,
And made life captivate you
Like a shimmering dream,
One yearns to see?

How long it had been?
Since you actually made love
To the fearless you,
Who is now afraid even of
Bright daylight?

How long had it been?
That you stopped yourself
From doing stuffs which
Didn't matter to anyone but you..
You found solace in your own stupidity

How long had it been?
That you sit solitary
Dividing others from your periphery
To let you know the inner self
And be proud of it yet again?

How long had it been?
That you still stand there
Shamelessly over the dead corpse
Of the girl who was once lively
But now just a rotten body?

How long had it been?
That you actually asked these queries
To the new "you" who happens to be
The killer to your innocence
And someone who hid that old self?

Will you ever ask yourself?
How long had it been when
You were actually happy
Not by living for someone else
But living for yourself?

Will you ask someday?
Stopping by those woods
Where you lost the inner you
That firefly which shimmered once
Now lost its charm..

Will you take a step ahead
To make this the tipping point
From where life takes a U-turn
To set things right
Enjoying your own set of flaws?

Will you ever?
Revisit that soul
Who was the reason
For someone's happy smile?
And kill back the one at present?

Will you do that?
Not for how long you were silent
But just to see those pretty little lies
You gave yourself
For your inner satisfaction

Or..how long will it be?
Till you continue going on and on
In the life which appears colourful
But lost its charm,
Genuinely turning into a land of rust..
