A picture is worth thousand words

When she opened the folder, it was full of memories,

Memories that made her laugh and memory of the cries,

The folder that saved a lot of story inside itself,

All the voice from the past was present in one shelf.

As she started going through the photos,

A number of thoughts started floating all over her mind,

As she relived the days, her heartbeat slows,

And an old version of her was what she finds.

She turned the photos one after the other,

And there was this photo that makes her bother,

She paused at that picture and lost in her thoughts,

One by one, she was opening the 5 years past knots.

Three girls in different position the picture showed,

One holding a cup, second sat on a chair and the third one bowed,

She pressurized her mind and went back to that moment,

It was the day of their college farewell and they were her best friend.

It was the picture, one hour prior to the function to begun,

They didn’t even prepared and yet they didn’t want to run,

The girl holding the cup was busy sipping the coffee,

The girl on the chair was looking towards the lobby,

She was bowing and searching for her novel in the bookshelf.

She remembered how they started getting ready,

Just 5 minutes before the function, they were slow and steady,

It was a knock at the door that made them realize,

If not now, then they might be out of their own farewell,

They got ready in 10 minutes to everyone’s surprise,

They can’t miss that day after all, they knew it well.

Today when she remember that day, she felt a pinch in her heart,

They were not ready to leave each other, their memories hurt,

Long lost friendship was what she could see today,

No longer are they connected, their relationship passed away,

The day they stopped being there for each other,

The day they stopped acting like they bother,

They were no more the same young trio of college,

They were lost in the world of adulteress and knowledge.

There she is standing alone, staring at the motionless picture,

Not knowing how to react, it was something she wanted to nurture,

Now that she is left only with these remaining chords,
