Delhi recently witnessed an evening dedicated to ghazals. From Ghalib and Allama Iqbal to Sufi songs, Anita Singhvi impressed the guests with a variety of ghazals at Bazm-e-Sukhan, organized by Indian Heritage and Health Care Centre. Eminent personalities bang e dara from Delhi's cultural and social circuit were in attendance. Former J&K Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah was the special guest. Anita started the event with Ghalib's 'Daayam Pada Hua Tere Dar Par Nahin Hoon Main' and ended the evening with 'Laali Mere Laal Ki' which kept everyone glued to their seats till the end. And even after almost 40 minutes of the performance, the audience still requested more Sufi songs. Anita credited her performance to the audience and said that it was the audience who inspired her to give her best. She said, "Kisi bhi artist ke liye audience agar sunkar ho aur agar usko appreciate karne wali ho, toh uski itni hausla-afzai hoti hai ki uski behtar se behtar Karne ki ichha ho jati hai. I had that audience today." Abhishek Manu Singhvi
Towards the end of the evening, Amar Singh, who's not very frequent at Delhi's social gatherings, arrived with his wife and was later spotted chit-chatting with other guests outside the auditorium. We also spotted shayar Mansoor Usmani, who joked saying, "I hope that Anita's heartbroken ghazals are not for her husband Abhishek Manu Singhvi!"
