An Ode to Earth's Children

My lush green forests devoured by fire

The crackle of flames echoes with the wind

Rich blue sky darkens , your curse sparking ire

Smothered and blackened, my cries you rescind.

Blue glacial ice blanket my seas no more

One with the water, thawed by drastic warmth

Storms lash out with a lover's fervor

You beg for mercy to escape my wrath

Fault lines tremble, billowing evil strikes

Your eyes pleading me to bear no ill will

Yet, your promises break with forgiveness

You roam my cities with ignorance still

Blue waters, wondrous creatures— almost gone

I ask you, my children— what have you done?
