Are Hookahs and Shisha OK When You Go to the Middle East?

A hookah, also called the shisha all, is a multi or single-stemmed device for inhaling or exhaling smoking either marijuana tobacco, flavored oil, or even hashish, and sometimes incense. The smoke is first passed through a glass water bowl, often glass-based, before inhalation. The act of inhaling allows the smoke to have a deeper and more potent effect on the user, while exhaling clears the airway. Hookahs do not burn anything; rather, the smoke from them simply moves waterpijp upward, reaching the lungs faster than normal inhalation and making for a more pleasant smoke. However, because hookahs do not burn the plant material, smoking becomes a dangerous habit, even though many people do inhale smoke from hookahs without harm.

Many cultures around the world use a hookah and shisha pipe to smoke herbal and flavored tobacco products, but in the United States hookah and shisha pipes are most commonly used to smoke marijuana. Smoking marijuana is both a legal and safe recreational activity. In states where marijuana is illegal, however, smoking the drug in public has become a problem. With increasing frequency, police are making arrests for marijuana possession in public, especially if the smoker is caught with an additional item in the pipe, such as chips or candies.

Hookahs and shisha pipes have been popular in the Arab and Muslim cultures for centuries, where they are used in clinics and worship centers as water pipes. In addition to their use as water pipes, hookahs are also used to smoke exotic herbs in addition to tobacco. Hookah pipes are sometimes referred to as "bunkers," and they are available in many colors, shapes and designs. They are primarily used as souvenirs and decorations in Israel, although they are also becoming common in other countries, particularly Europe and Asia. In Arab culture, the hookah is considered to be a must have for daily use, not only for its functionality but also for its decorative value.

Hookah and shisha smoking is not associated with the spread of any disease in most countries, nor does it increase the risk of oral or lung cancer. However, some tobacco companies have begun replacing tobacco with hookah in an effort to appeal to young consumers who are less concerned about health and more concerned about the appearance of their hookah. Hookah pipes often resemble real pipes but are often decorated with fancy motifs, images and colors. Some hookah models are so colorful that hookah users believe that they are smoking herbs instead of tobacco.

The hookah does not contain any tar or nicotine, which makes them more appealing to hookah smokers. Some pipes have even been designed with small holes that allow hookah users to smoke water inside the pipe without inhaling any of the tar or smoke. Hookah pipes also differ in appearance from the shisha pipe, including the fact that they are made out of metal or glass, not just clay. There are also hookah pouches, which can hold shisha and hookah tobacco.

Hookahs and shisha pipes are available at most tobacco stores and are relatively inexpensive compared to comparable pipes for cigarettes. They are commonly found in hookahs stores, in many supermarkets and department stores and are available in different colors and shapes. Most pipes in the middle east are roughly the same size and can either be bought pre-lit or unlit, depending on personal preference.

There are also hookahs available in the form of hooka bags, available in a variety of colors and styles. These hooka bags are traditionally made out of cotton cloth. Hookah and shisha are both tobacco products that produce smoke containing nicotine. The difference between shisha and hookah is that shisha is rolled and wrapped in Arabic and/or Hebrew characters and hookah is compressed into strips similar to gum. Both tobacco products are considered OK to smoke by non-smokers, but some health experts discourage the use of hookah or shisha even when using it in a public place because they may cause passive smoking. In fact, hookahs and shisha are the second most traded items in the tobacco industry after cigarettes.

hookah and shisha are becoming more popular among the younger generations in the middle east who are turning to stop smoking slowly. They are now looking for ways to relax and unwind in a pleasant and non-tobacco related environment. Hookah smoking has become an acceptable way for people to overcome their nicotine addiction. hookah smokers are less likely to experience the withdrawal symptoms that occur when they stop using tobacco and they enjoy a more relaxing session while smoking. Both hookahs and shisha are an affordable and convenient way to get a smoke at home and they can be easily taken with you if you travel to the Middle East or elsewhere in the world.
