A woman has to face murder charges after allegedly killing her boyfriend by throwing a cell phone at his head in a violent clash.
Reporting from the Daily Mail page, Sunday (26/9/2021), 22-year-old woman, Roxana Adelina Lopez has been named an official suspect in an ongoing investigation by a criminal court in Cafayate near Salta in northwestern Argentina.
Roxana is alleged to have grabbed a cell phone and used it as a weapon in self-defense after being beaten in the face by her boyfriend.
The phone hit the temple of Luis, Roxana's victim and boyfriend, and he died after being admitted to the hospital's A&E unit complaining of severe migraines.
Luis died on April 18, eight days after the incident occurred. However, news of her death only became public on Saturday (25/9) because Roxana was at the center of the court's investigation.
Roxana has not been charged with any wrongdoing, as prosecutors will only file charges shortly before the trial.
Cause of Quarrel Unknown
Luis' mother went to the police to ask them to take action against the suspect after Luis died at the San Bernardo hospital in the city of Salta. Previously, Luis had undergone surgery for the severe brain injury he had suffered after being hit in the head.
The couple's quarrel that led to this tragedy reportedly occurred at Luis' rented house.
It's not clear what sparked their fight.
