At the Crossroads

One night,

It was rather an odd night

For many things had happened

in just a short span of time

People in different suits and different dresses

Walks in a pace that seem to be

a bit of random

But in a normal kind of random

Skyscrapers lit up the skies

Filling it with so much light

The moon and the stars were out shined

I walk in the similar random pace

fast, slow, pause, resume

fast, slow, pause resume

Down the stairs, up the stairs

Go right, then left

and then,

I stopped

It was the crossroads

where cars and people intercept

It's where the three colors combine

Red, Yellow, Green

Stop, Slow, Go

People waits patiently

Others doesn't

I was caught with the traffic

of the wonders of the crossroads

I was stuck, only for a minute

and there it was,

It turned to go green for the people

and red for the cars

I walked the striped path

White, black, white, black, white, black

and then, He called my name

In the middle of the crossroads

I felt a hand graze mine

My head raised,

deep curiosity fills me

A smile greeted my sight

It was a warm smile

A smile that seemed to know me

My heart started to thump

Like the thump of people walking

It followed the rhythm of the light that blinked

And I knew for a moment

That the crossroads

was meant for the people to meet in its center

But never meant to stop

So I walked

Towards the opposite of him

The smile still stayed with him

as I saw him move away

opposite from me

but still, I smiled at him

hoping that he will catch it

That's when the lights turned

Red for the people

and Green for the cars

And he glitched from view

I stayed facing the crossroads

hoping to see him again

to go and follow him

But, he didn't stay.

That's when I decided

That the crossroads makes people meet in the middle

But it never meant for it to stop

It meant for everyone to move on

Because the lights will change

And everything

will glitch

and fade from view.
