"You are leaving? But why? "
"Yes, I have to. It's that time of the year."
"So, now you are hiding from that person, how mature!"
"No, I ain't hiding from that person, I am hiding from those memories which is connecting me to that person as simole as that."
"That's it. Enough of your philosophical explainations. It's high time, you stop running from your past. It's doing nothing but ruining your present. Get out of it."
"It's easy to say when you are leaving me alone here with what you call my "past" ".
Elly left the room in frustration.
It rained all night.
In the morning when she woke up the rain was still pouring down on her window.
"She should have left by now. I shall also start packing up my bags. Hope it stops raining by the time I get ready to leave for the station.Here I come the almighty mountains."
She got out of bed, but a familiar voice stunned her.
"Sorry Pal, I can't make it. I have got some more pressing issues round up here."
"Why are you still here with your bags packed? Did you miss the flight?",Elly asked.
"Okay, bye. Thanks for understanding.", she ended the call.
"Nope.", putting down her mobile, Suzie moved towards the kitchen.
"Okay but that still doesn't answer my question. You were suppose to go on your office trip."
"Yeah, I was but I canceled."
"What are we having for breakfast?"
"I don't know.", said Elly out of frustration.
"Back to the question, why?"
"Do we have some bread butter I am starving. Also,because I can't leave you unsupervised while you are crying like a baby especially at this time of the year. God knows what if you jump of the cliff, Or spend your whole savings on shopping wine and wine and call him up and hide yourself somewhere out of regret of that stupid call just like you always do. And if you do all that I dont have that much of savings to pay the rent alone.So, I called the mountains and they accepted my application to visit them. Guess I will be tagging along with you buddy."
Filled with annoyance with Suzie's sarcastic replies Elly turned around and asked her while she was searching for bread and butter in the fridge.
"Seriously, tell me, one last time, why the hell did you do that?"
Slamming the fridge door, Suzie turned towards Elly, And with a serious tone said,
"Because I can't see you getting hurt anymore by yourself, El. It's time I share that pain too. You got to let me help you out, escaping the reality is good for sometime but not always. For god sake, I am your best friend and you only said I am your family and family stick together no matter what. I know you dont lile peolle around you when you are sad but like it or not this time I am coming with you."
Elly couldn't help herself and hugged Suzie, even though she hated hugs.
"Stop copying my favourite shows dialogue, you dummy."
"And you stop hurting on your own, you double dummy. Now let's get ready we have a long way to go."
As they left for the mountains rain also, changed its course."
P.S : It rained heavily that day, when Elly heard from him, she was a mess. She loved him more than anything. Suzie saw her and stayed with her during that phase, but as the time passed and they both got busy with their career they lost the connection between them. They became now strangers living in the same apartment. After two years, when that day arrived, again, the day when two years back Elly decided to confess her love but got a breakup instead. She has been spending that particular day alone travelling to the mountains. This year it rained and after the fight Suzie realised the lost connection between them and decided to share Elly's pain by accompanying her to the mountains over her office trip. As she said family stick together no matter what, she did exactly the same.
