Beware of Muses; Beware of Poets

Info

Beware of the Poet, their honeyed tongues create and dissipate love

I have learned that the most dangerous kinds of people,

are the ones who write poetry.

They will write a hundred or a thousand words

 for a single smile, a kiss;

or even the bits and pieces of myself I loathed,

make it sound all so beautiful, oh so wonderful.

Through words they will love, and make love,

until I can't distinguish anymore who I loved more:

the words, or the speaker of those words.

So I leave as noiseless, as traceless as I could,

and perhaps in my wanderings come across another

who will write me their poetries.

And I will love their words, and the person even more.

And perhaps then I will stay.

Please make me stay.

Beware of the Muse, for their brightness consumes

I have learned that the most dangerous kinds of people,

are the ones who inspire poetry be written

about their smile or their words,

or that mole by the cheek and et cetera.

Dangerous because, just for them we will build

a multiverse in our heads, litanies and odes

and like wily Gods they could destroy

everything there was, is and ever will be,

steal and seal away all they have brought,

including the words, songs and the poems,

when they decide to leave, and then reside

in another poet's multiverse built for them.

--------------

A Poet's Apology

-To all the muses I loved (or I thought I loved) before, I apologize for using you, for consuming the morsels of feeling and turning them to words. Sometimes I fear I needed to love so I can write. I needed you to write, I needed to be hurt by you to write, sometimes I don't know whether it was you I needed, or it was to write about you, that I needed.

A Wish of a Muse without an Owner

- Sometimes I wish that there is someone too who takes in and beholds all of me, the good and the bad, the beautiful and the ugly, the saint and sinner, angel and demon and beast that is me; and write, please write about me. It may sound vain, self-centered even, but I love words. Please love me through your words.

These words were woven so beautifully that it summed up the dilemmas of both the poet and the muse. Awesome work!
