Beyond the Facade.

This mirror is so playful,
Too deep and too vulgar.
It sees beyond what I show,
It sees deep beyond what I hide.

It sees the twitch when I fake a smile,
The one most people don't see when we cross path.
It sees the tears I try to stop,
The one no one sees when they see me walk around.

This mirror sees my broken lines,
The one I hide to everyone.
But it sees it in a different light,
Like it's a part of what makes me beautiful in anyone's eyes.

This mirror sees the monster I hide,
The dark past I bury deep inside.
But it also sees what it fears so bad,
What tames it and what releases it to become wild.

The mirror sees so much,
One look and there's so much that it brings out.
I wonder how it works,
Or does it depend on the eyes who seek to see what it truly shows.

The mirror sees a different me,
No, not different but the real me.
Everything I keep inside,
Everything that I try to hide outside.

What does this mirror say,
With everything it's trying to reveal,
I wonder if those who'll see my reflection in this,
Will see the same things the mirror want them to see.
