How could you assume you know me?
When all you’ve ever seen is my physical entirety
Not the untamed lion hidden within me
Nor the vines all tangled up inside my body
Have you heard the hymns I always hum?
Have you seen how I dance with a raging storm?
Demure and prim, moving almost like a ribbon
Accompanied only by the blowing wind as my song
How could you possibly say you know me?
When all you’ve heard about me are hushed words!
Not the serene sound of my beating heart
Nor the birdsong composed of many melodious parts
Boy, have you heard my ribcage creaking?
Or seen the liquidized gold in my veins cascading
Don’t you know I got diamonds for eyes?
Glowing like stars even in the darkest of nights
I am nothing like anything you’ve ever seen
You keep saying I'm too bizarre for your own liking
But love; there is no greater beauty than that
For singularity ain't something you can just take and have
