A Boy's cry...

“Boys cry when no one can see them, when no one can see them cry…” This hit song from the 60’s by Eden Kane shows us that not much has changed in the last 50 years.

Most guys don’t cry as they like to show how strong they are and how manly they can be with girls.

What girls don’t know about guys is that in fact they can be just as sensitive as but manfully stride through life hiding their emotions.

Most men are just as sensitive as girls, but are raised to hide their feelings. They have been reared to be men and act accordingly so they just don’t feel comfortable with tears. They tend to keep what they feel inside and often show no emotions at all.

Parents usually minimise an accident for a boy and try to divert his attention to avoid crying. Some even declare, “Boys don’t cry!”

Girls on the other hand are cuddled and kissed and fussed over. So naturally, they are the opposite. They are more expressive about their sensitive side, and don’t really worry about showing their feelings in public. Most girls just can’t bear the feeling of hiding their emotions. And this is a dilemma for most males as they just don’t really understand what is going on once a girl starts to cry.

Are they just pretending to cry to get attention? Are they very happy? Perhaps very sad? Or maybe it’s her hormones. Perhaps a bad joke misinterpreted? Perhaps they are tears of happiness!

However, a boys cry is more meaningful than a girls.

Men worry about their public image. Their whole being is wrapped in being manly. Emotions are controlled. They are more concerned with what people might think of them and just want to prove to everyone and specially their partner that they are strong in handling problems. They don’t want the people around them to think they are weak when it comes to relationships. They want to show their loved one that they can deal with any problems and that they won’t let their emotions control them. They are the rock!

So when do guys cry?

Usually when something really serious happens.

If a man is suffering physically he may shed tears of pain.

Emotionally it takes a lot to trigger tears but they will come and most often with loss.

If the love of his life leaves, there is no doubt that the guy who doesn’t normally shed a tear, will now have tears flowing down his face. There may be tears of anger mixed in and they may be in private, but they are there.

The suffering of innocents may provoke tears.

It is hard for most of us to see children suffer. The loss of family members and even pets can provoke tears in all of us including men.

Movie makers are skilled at presenting sad situations … they are called “tear jerkers” after all, and in a darkened theatre or a private TV room there may be moistening of the eyes from your male.

A guys cry is actually one of the strongest ways to show you your man cares. If your man has cried for you, then you are pretty lucky. You have someone who has felt very deeply and is not afraid to show you his vulnerable side.

A boy can do a lot of things, but can't do everything, but there are something us men all of us refrain from doing, we always hold it back and never let it flow, but once we have shed especially for girl, it only mean one thing, that nobody could love that girl more than the man who shed tears for her.

It means he cares about her and that his feelings are true, and that he probably loves you. A man's tears rarely fall and they mean a lot as a man wouldn't normally cry, and when they fall for a girl it means that he is truly hurt and he is opening his heart to you.

It is rightly said:

"A girl's laughter is much more cheerful than boy's, But a boy's cry is much more meaningful than a girl's".
