Buying Diamonds in Africa: Hurry Up and Wait!

I have fished South Africa for more than 30 years and through these years I have caught countless fish and an incredible array of fish species. south african achievements South African fishing has awarded me the opportunity to live out my love for the outdoors and has also fueled many rushes of adrenalin when a fishing line starts screaming.

Being that there are so many fish species available you will never have a dull moment of fishing in South Africa. Some of my favorite species are;

The Carp (a favorite species for fishing worldwide)the Tiger Fish (Also known as the Striped Water Dog, this is probably our top freshwater sports fish), the Barbel (Also known as the Sharptooth Catfish), the Blue Kurper (A lot like a type of bream species), the Largemouth Yellowfish (One of our many indigenous species and a great favorite caught on fly)

The Bronze Whaler Shark (Everybody loves to catch a shark), the Barracuda (The teeth and the fight they give makes it worthwhile), the Giant Trevally (Also known as the Kingfish, it's a real bully at the end of your line), the Kob (Also known as the Salmon, a large good eating quality fish), the Sailfish (Coupled with the Marlin species, a highly sought after game fish)

Learning to catch these fish is a life long learning process. You will have to select the correct baits and fishing gear as well as choose the right fishing spot to target these fish.

If you get everything in order there will still be times where the big on gets away, but there will also be times where an angler is rewarded with a great big catch of the day that will earn you bragging rights for a long time to come.

In South Africa we have a large number of inland bodies of water, stocked with fish, from large lakes and rivers to small streams and small farms dams, fish are found in almost every piece of water that you can find.

The South African coastline runs around the Southern tip of Africa and stretches for more than 2500 kilometres (1553 mi), from the Namibian border in the Atlantic ocean to the border of Mozambique in the Indian ocean. This large stretch of ocean will have you testing out a new fishing spot each time you plan a new fishing trip.

If you would like to have a blast of a fishing trip, be sure to include South Africa in your itinerary for the weather is great the fish are big and the people are friendly.
