Cambridge CPE Writing online practice

The Cambridge English: Proficiency exam, also known as CPE, is the highest level exam in the Cambridge English exam set. Earning the Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English demonstrates that a student has mastered English at an almost native level and can study or work in any type of English environment.

Like all Cambridge English exams, the CPE is a pass / fail test and for those who pass, it provides a certificate that does not expire. The Cambridge Proficiency exam can be a paper test or a computer test. Both the paper and online versions last 236 minutes total.

The CPE writing online practice will show that you have a perfect command of the English language in writing. In March 2013, Cambridge is redesigning the test to make it shorter - just an hour and a half instead of two. The word length of the script is shorter, so you can spend more time crafting the script to make it more elegant. You will also have the option to take a paper or computer-based test. If you take the computer-based test, you should learn to touch the font, as it will provide you with the writing section. Many people prefer to take the exam on paper, but their writing is not very readable, so even if their writing is good, if the examiner cannot read it, they will not get a good score.

The exam has two main parts. The first part gives you two texts to read, and then you have to write about each text. You may have to compare and contrast or show how they are related. The two texts are not long and are at a C1 writing level. The length must be between 250-280 words.

Each student receives their CPE results broken down by the four skills, as well as an overall result and the corresponding level of the CEFR. If the student earned a passing grade on the CPE, they will also receive their Cambridge Advanced Certificate, which never expires, but if they did not get a passing grade, they will only get the grade report.
