When Brad Taylor and Tor Malmros started Workz Group back in 1997, they never could have thought that the company would achieve success on such a massive scale in such a short span of time. Workz Group was formed almost 21 years ago to provide B2B solutions to companies operating in the cellular industry. The SIM card and scratch card manufacturer, realizing the potential in the market, began offering a wide range of solutions to companies operating in this sector.
A vast majority of the companies that offer cellular services do not manufacture their own scratch cards and SIM cards. Instead, they bank on services offered by SIM card and scratch card suppliers such as Workz.
The company started by offering solutions to smaller companies, but as the overall usage of mobile phones continued to grow, Workz Group also expanded its operations considerably. During the 2000s, the company’s popularity began to grow dramatically, and it was and continues to be the preferred choice for many major network operators working in this sector.
The company also expanded its product portfolio by a considerable margin and currently offers a number of products and services. These include eSIM remote provisioning for consumer and M2M devices, SIM card development, OTA management and supply chain management in addition to scratch card and SIM card manufacturing. As the needs of the industry began to change, the company altered its product offerings.
Today, Workz Group is the world number one scratch card manufacturer and one among the top 10 SIM card manufacturers. The company has a presence in more than 60 countries with offices in Ireland, UAE, Germany, Turkey, Bosnia and Herzegovina, South Africa, Senegal, USA, and Hong Kong. The company is the first GSMA certified eSIM manufacturer in the Middle East and Africa. In fact, it’s just the sixth in the world to be awarded this certification.
The company currently has more than 400 employees and also has partnerships with ARM Holdings and Truphone. The embedded SIM offerings provided by the company has also begun to grow.
In 2018, the company appointed Stephane Fund as the new group CEO and in November of the same year, acquired Elatec CSS, a security solutions provider in Germany. Workz Group is currently expanding, and the company is looking to acquire other businesses within this sector. It is one of the leading businesses that currently offer high-quality solutions to clients all over the globe and is a major name in the industry.
