After dark

 Southeast tropical part time love,

Liquors were meant for someone unloved.

For she who wore death amidst that luck,

when she danced for his King for that said epilogue.

Drove ‘round the city like a protagonist in a book,

Pushing to the limits, but hours and hours it took.

‘Til time burnt hundreds of dawns away,

Into a tavern is where two in silence begged to stay.

Together, they were bound forever in a finite spell,

Lovers for hours, and strangers after dark.

A story none of them would care to tell,

How he for a time left an unforgettable mark.
