Dear Self

Dear Self,

You don't need someone who wants to feel needed. They're the ones who will run out of the door when you have nothing more to give. You have been single for too long. Has it not taught you enough? You can stand on your own. You don't need a man to complete you and you don't deserve a man who only wants you to complete himself.

You have always been strong and brave--a real man will see that and a real man will not be intimidated by that. He knows you can live without him but he'll love you anyway. Because he himself is complete. He will not give you a half-hearted love and expect you to complete the other half. Afterall, a relationship is made by two people who is willing and able to give themselves fully.

No one can fight your own battle but the right man will fight the battle WITH you. He will be there to support you. And even those times you fail and lean on him, he will emphatize with you instead of feeding his masculinity.

It took years to grow your own wings. Don't cut them just to be with someone--anyone. It may take years, but someday, someone will fly with you and you won't need to fly alone anymore.  My dearest, you don't have to feel inferior just to please a man.
