Desperate (No More)

 I am desperate.

For someone to see me.

The real me.

Not what they are trying to perceive.

Or  what they just want to believe.

I see your soul shining

Behind the veil of your lines

I know how you must be feeling

Searching desperately for some sign.

Someone who will notice

The sorrow in my smile

yet, won't try to judge,

Or fakely sympathize.

I see the pain you're hiding

Buried deep in the dark

I know how lost you're feeling

Trying to shield your fragile heart.

Someone who will look past beyond

the flaws I can never hide,

Not that I have ever tried

coz it's hard to be someone you're not.

Those flaws you see in your mirror

Are the same ones I see in mine

I know how it feels to be broken

We are two of a kind.

Someone who will see me in a different light

Feel the goodness in my heart

Notice my beauty from within

No matter how little it may seem.

As I have grown to know you

And see into pieces of your heart

I know that kindness defines you

I found your soul beautiful from the start.

If there really is someone out there

Make your presence be known

For I've been looking out

for you for such a long time now.

There may be other people

Who will see you like I do

The ones who believe who you are inside

Is really what defines you.

I hope and pray you find

The one you're searching for

For you deserve the best of

What life and love have in store.

I am now confident to say

The wait is over, finally.

I have found the one I've been looking for

One I could have never

Met in this lifetime ever

But now we're here

 Fate has a funny way of showing

And no, don't get me wrong

This is not a poem professing

my undying love for you!

(I still, don't swing that way babe)

Just a simple way of saying thank you

for I have found a friend in you.
