Do the stars stare back,
Each time you sip wine under the night sky,
Whispering, 'I love you',
Can you tell if the stars know you're lying?

Empty roads,
Starlit skies,
This city feels a lot like home,
When I walk on an empty horizon,
Onto nothingness,
Breathing,
This city wraps me in it's arms,
And it's not just me drooling,
This city is drunk too,
Me in your love,
It in mine.

Empty houses,
Crowded streets,
The phone beeps,
Sometimes.
This city feels strange,
When I walk amongst hundreds,
Onto a strange oblivion,
Breathing,
This city stops;
It's not just me crying,
This city is crying too,
Me for a home,
It for me.

Empty clubs,
Tired souls,
This city loves rebels,
And it's absence is the most Obviously thing,
When a stranger learns not to exist,
Unraveling the emptiness,
Yet breathing,
Can the stars tell his absence?
This city calls for them,
And it's not just me running,
This city is running too;
Me towards a less lonely place,
It towards me.

Empty markets,
Sleepy vendors,
This city feeds the hunger,
It never occurred to it that it couldn't,
Neither that it could,
It just did;
This city packs love for strangers,
But it's not just me, unaware,
This city is unaware too,
Me because I chase infinities,
It because it chases me.

*24-7, on repeat.*
Empty cities,
Emptier souls,
Crowded streets,
Lonelier hearts,
Only the stars stay along,
In a city that moves so fast,
And forgets faster.

So tell me,
Do the stars wink back,
Whenever you say you love me,
And mean it,
