Elmiron Eye Damage Lawsuit

Info

Using Elmiron for a long time can lead to retinal disorders and the irreversible Retinal Maculopathy. If you or a loved one has suffered this type of eye damage, you may be able to take legal action to recover your damages. These types of lawsuits are available for a wide variety of cases, including those where a child or adult has suffered severe eye damage after taking the medication. Elmiron Eye Damage Lawsuit is a great way to get compensation for your losses, and can help you and your family get the medical care that you need.

Long-term use of Elmiron causes retinal disorders

Thousands of patients took Elmiron for decades, unaware that they were exposing themselves to serious eye damage. Hundreds of lawsuits allege that the manufacturer failed to warn consumers about the side effects of the drug.

Researchers have discovered that the drug is linked to a new type of eye disease. It's called retinal pigmentary maculopathy, and it causes blurred vision and difficulty reading. It may also lead to loss of night vision.

This new type of eye disease was first discovered by researchers at Harvard Medical School, who found that Elmiron users were at a higher risk of experiencing the problem. In a follow-up study, researchers found that a majority of Elmiron-related maculopathy patients suffered structural damage to the eye.

In an initial study of six patients who were taking Elmiron for interstitial cystitis, researchers found a novel type of maculopathy. It's unclear whether the disease is caused by toxicity or genetics.

Atypical maculopathy

Several studies have shown that the use of Elmiron increases the risk of developing maculopathy. The condition involves the growth of small pale spots on the macula. Symptoms include blindness, glare, general visual loss, and difficulty seeing at night.

The study showed that 25% of Elmiron users reported visual side effects. This included the development of macular disease, blurred vision, and difficulty reading. In addition, the researchers found that patients in the same age group were more likely to develop this eye condition than patients who weren't on Elmiron.

The research team compared Elmiron users to matched controls at five and seven years of use. They found that Elmiron users had a higher rate of atypical maculopathy, or a type of maculopathy that is unique to Elmiron.

Elmiron is a drug used to treat Interstitial Cystitis, which is a type of inflammatory eye disease. Although the drug is safe, long-term use can lead to maculopathy.

Retinal maculopathy is irreversible

During an eye exam, the eye doctor will check your vision for any changes to the macula. Macula is an important part of the eye, and is responsible for sharp central vision. If the macula is damaged, you may not have much or any vision at all.

The macula is affected by several different eye diseases. One of the most common is age-related macular degeneration (ARMD). This condition causes the macula to deteriorate over time. This leads to loss of central vision.

Another eye disease that causes vision loss is pathologic myopia. High myopia can lead to retinal detachment. Symptoms of pathologic myopia include blurred vision, difficulty reading, and a loss of color vision. It may also lead to glaucoma.

Another eye disease that can cause vision loss is pigmentary maculopathy. This eye disease occurs when there are abnormalities of the pigment epithelium of the retina. The pigment abnormalities can occur in the macula or the peripheral retina.
