Expecting Your Message

"Hey Mary, I'm leaving home." Kat message me in messenger
"Oh! Good for you. You will now have a new house."

I cheerfully message my best friend as she texted me Thursday night 9:00 pm.

"No. Actually, my mom didn't want me to go home at all."
"Oh? Because you like the new home."
"No. I don't have a home. I'm currently here at the airport. I'm waiting for my flight to come."

These words. I know she ran away. She's living an independent life right now. She is rich and her sister is supporting her. She could have done it before but she only did it now.

Risking her life to be alone, I know she is afraid. She didn't have any relatives where she will go plus she is just staying in a five-star hotel. I am so worried about my best friend that I want to go with her just to check she is okay.

That day, I asked her if she will come back. "Yes, Mary. I will. Our school will start this Monday and I am already enrolled so I'll come back." I expect her to come back. Actually, she's the only friend that I have in school. She is just the truest friend I know.

A day after that message, I message her again. "Hey, Kits! How are you? When will you come back."

"I won't."

"I won't"
"I won't"
"I won't"

It keeps echoing in my head. I was so surprised and hurt at the same time.

"Why?" It is the only word that I said. There are actually lots of questions that I want to ask.
"Why are you leaving me?"
"Don't you love me?"
"Do you know that I will be alone?"
"Why are you like this?"

But even though it is a simple question, she didn't answer me back. I guess she's already tired to be my friend or she wants to leave me behind. Maybe she's starting a new life and she doesn't want me to be part of it anymore.

Kat. Please come back. I want you to be back. I am expecting your message to have a content of "I will be back."

And if you didn't, please don't forget me because I'll always have your back.
