Falling for A Straight (end)

I looked at him dumbfounded, trying to reason what he just said.

"Don't look so surprised," Manoko said, still having the smirk. "I thought I left behind enough hits for you, yet you always looked past them without a fail."

"Eh, then, Hashiki, let us drink our life out, huh?" he asked, acting a little goofy. Was it out of embarrassment or nervousness? I couldn’t tell anymore all of a sudden.

"About which part?" I asked, too fast.

He smiled, "About getting drunk of course."

"Then..." I trailed off as things fall into place.

"I'm not stupid," Manoko said, "If I want to profess my love to you, I want to do it sober with you."
