Features Of The New Salesforce Mobile Application

Info

Almost two million users, run their businesses from their mobile phones using the salesforce mobile app, every month. The app is taking productivity, personalization, and speed to a whole new level. At the beginning of Winter ’20, Salesforce mobile users will enjoy a new mobile experience. They will get faster access to their favorite Lightning apps, enhanced navigation experience and in-depth functionality on every page. Admins and Salesforce developers will have greater ability to customize the application and also, they will be able to create unique mobile experiences for users and their businesses.

Salesforce Mobile Interface Integrated with Lightning experience:-

The first thing you will notice is that the Lightning experience is now mirrored in mobile. Hence, the Salesforce experience becomes highly intuitive as the users shift from their laptops to their mobile phones. Users will not need any additional training. Any personalizations that the users make to their navigation will automatically extend to the Salesforce mobile app.

Intuitive Navigation of Salesforce Mobile:-

There are three main navigational changes for the end users in the Salesforce mobile app. These changes will help them access any app, object or other elements very quickly. The changes include the following-

New mobile navigation bar:-

Salesforce has added a new navigation bar to the bottom of the UI of Salesforce mobile app. It makes it easier for users to access their favourites, search, and also, get notifications for each application.

App Launcher on mobile:-

The Lightning Experience helps users access their Salesforce app launcher and navigate between sales, service, marketing, or custom apps from their mobile device. Users can also get to their profiles where they can navigate between their own accounts.

Personalized Navigation:-

Lightning Experience allows users to customize their navigation bar on their desktop. Hence, every user will be able to create a more relevant experience. For example, an account executive may order their tabs as accounts, opportunities and leads. On the other side, business development representatives may put their leads as their first tab. The items on the mobile app navigation menu sync with the ordering from Lightning Experience on desktop.

Customizable Lightning Record Pages:-

Lightning Experience on mobile implies less work for admins. At present, a record page in Lightning Experience is different from a record page in the mobile app. It is because Salesforce has made the Lightning Experience record pages with Lightning components, while mobile record pages have a hard-coded layout. Salesforce has brought the customizable Lightning page architecture to mobile so that users can interact with the same record pages in the mobile app and Lightning Experience on the desktop. It implies that, admins will no longer have to create two separate pages for mobile and desktop. Users can create a record page just once and the experience is the same for both desktop and mobile.

Action Bar in Action:-

Users are very fond of the action bar on the mobile app. It is because the users get quick access to do tasks such as creating a Chatter post, editing a record, or logging a case. The new action bar consists of new thumb-friendly feature that lets iOS users access all those actions by pressing down on the tab bar and dragging their thumb left and right.

Voice Capabilities:-

With the new Salesforce mobile application, iOS users can quickly access their accounts, contacts, and any custom data records with voice commands via Siri shortcut. The user can just say, “Hey Siri, show me my dashboard”; and the Salesforce app will open the dashboard page for the user. Also, Einstein Voice and Einstein Platform Services will change the way the users work on mobile. They can now update opportunities and any records on any custom app via voice commands.
