Four things you must never tell a florist

Info

A florist or the owner of the flower shop in Chiswick is the person you reach out to when you are in need of some flowers. Fortunately, most of the florists are very nice people who will never make a fuss and are always on toes to delight their customers even when they speak out the most darndest thing.

While at our flower shop in Drummoyne, we encounter many such sentences, we thought of adding some of the them, which you all need to know. Check if you have used any of these statement at any flower shop in Chiswick earlier.

Here are some of those sentences.

1. “I have created 50 Pinterest boards with limitless pins for my wedding. Please go through those and make similar wedding flowers for my day.” – Having inspirations handy for your wedding flowers in a good idea, but you must never expect your florist to go through thousands of such pins and understand what you want. Please understand that florists are busy and they make each bouquet with their hands. If they waste their entire day in understanding your pin boards and creating bouquets, when will they do their other work?

2. “Can you please make it nice” – This is something we hear every day. Please make something nice out of these. We know your intention but flowers are by default nice only and our goal is always to make everything beautiful and extraordinary. We try our best to suit your preferences.

3. “When I retire, I will also start a flower shop. It is such as easy job just to shuffle flowers and create a bouquet” – While owning a flower shop in Chiswick and designing flowers seem like an easy and laid-back job, we assure you that it is not. Becoming a florist is a great career but it not so easy. Before bringing two different flowers together in a bouquet, you need to understand the flowers that can be blended together.

4. “Why your flowers are so expensive, I get these flowers at good rates at the grocery store” – Most of the florists know that you can get cheaper flowers at the grocery store. Grocery stores sell other items as well and selling flowers is not their bread and butter. The big grocery stores are definitely not relying on their flower sales to bring a day’s profit on the table. Further, these grocery stores have a prominent hand in buying flowers – they can get flower stem most often at a better cost than your local florist.

Florists run a very small business and they have to make their entire living out of it. Be kind to them and support them in their ventures.
