Freedom and Happiness

"NO!" A boy screamed at his mother. Tears rolled down his dark brown cheeks. Hardly ever crying Damien furiously glared at his mother. The woman who gave birth to him and he is defying her. The shock on her face, her own tears rising to the surface he repeated calmly, quietly to her, "No... I meant. I'm tired of listening to you. I want to be happy. Let me try. Please. I love you mom but... I can't keep lying to myself that I am happy when I'm not. I just can't." He huffed sadly feeling disappointment from her. "I'm going to make you proud but you have let me grow. Grow in my person... I can't do that with you telling me how to live. I'll take the advice and lessons you gave me but I'm learning the rest alone." Grabbing his things he left to his car and looked back. He saw his mother crying softly with a weak smile.

"Visit soon then." She watched her son nod putting his things in the car and driving off. In search of what makes him happy.
