Dogs often need a bath. They get dirty so that they start to smell after a while. Bathing dogs can be very difficult, but here are some great ideas and tips for bathing your dog.
First, make sure you have everything you need to wash your dog. You don’t have to run around and look for something to watch as your dog runs around the house and pours soap and water everywhere. Make sure you have completed all other grooming before giving your dog a bath. Bathing should be the last thing you do instead of drying your hair.
Brush your dog's hair. Expose all clutter and loose hair. Use a dog guard if you can. Loose dogs also loose a lot of hair in the bath, (Dog poop service) and you don’t want to have to remove tons of dog hair from the bathtub.
Put your dog in a bathtub or children’s pool, or in any other container you use. Take off her normal collar and dress the other one on. A normal collar can hurt a dog when wet. Buy one that is good in the water and helps control your dog and that does not bleed wet. You don’t want your dog to turn blue.
Rinse your dog well. Make sure it is completely wet. Use a bathtub with a shower plug that you can unplug and use as a hose. It’s much easier and makes sure your dog always gets clean water. If you do not have this option, be sure to drain enough water to keep your dog clean.
Rinse your entire dog. Do not use human shampoo but dog shampoo. Be sure to find all the parts of the dog. Do not apply soap close to the eyes and be very careful around the genitals. None of them need a lot of soap as they can seriously harm your dog. If you have a dog with a lot of hair, be sure to use the shampoo well. You really want your dog to come out clean, so be sure to go everywhere.
Rinse your dog. Grasp every part and do not leave soap on your hair. This irritates the dog and makes the skin red and itchy.
First, use a towel to dry the dog. Make sure the paws are completely dry to prevent infection. If your dog has a lot of hair, use a hair dryer. They have to dry their fur completely or they get cold and get sick. Do not use a human hair dryer as it may overheat and harm your dog. They make tons of great dog hair dryers, so buy one before you drink to your dog. If your dog’s hair tends to fluff after washing, dry and brush them as well. You want your dog to look its best. Brush your dog's hair when you're done.
Brush your dog often. Find out how often your dog should be vaccinated based on where you live and its type. Some require a weekly wash using diluted shampoo, but most require less frequent washing.
