A Girl

Maybe I won't be able to put it all here in words what goes incessantly through my head everyday but I would still make an endeavor to pen down a part of it which would surely lend me a sense of tranquility and aplomb, which a girl yearns for all her lifetime in this chaotic, miserable and inconsiderate world. Oh! The world itself isn't ugly but the people here are. People with a black heart. People with least concern for others. People, authoritative to any extent. And amongst all these false creations, a girl survives, strives to survive, strives ceaselessly to survive every second, every day. Ogling eyes waiting for her the moment she steps out. Indecent comments prepared to be thrown at her the day she dresses in her new outfit. Ungentlemanly actions ready to be meted out to her the minute she is found lone. She is any girl, a girl.

She aspires to sit under the glittering sky at night alone. She desires to run with naked legs on the sands near the sea leaving her footprints under the golden blaze of sun without any fear. She longs to wander here and there, exploring different parts of this big world in a carefree manner without demanding any protection. But her desires, her aspirations, her longings lack actualization. They do not fit into those boundaries built for her. Boundaries which confine her. The unreal boundaries but stronger and higher than the real cemented ones.

The infamous, the most disgraceful, ignominious deeds are degrading her ability to enjoy what she deserves, withholding her from living what she wants, stopping her from becoming what she is. She is quite from outside but her soul’s not. She is happy from outside but her heart’s not. She is any girl. A girl. An individual. A human. A creation of God, like any other. A beautiful creation, in fact!

Dear girls,

We are the beautiful creation of God.

The world will not care for us, we ourselves will have to.

The world will not shield us, we ourselves will have to.

Muster up all your strength.

Brush aside all your fears.

Time to wipe out tears.

Get equipped.

Be beautiful.

Don’t be afraid because that only adds up to their nefarious thoughts.

Act smart.

Unleash all your weapons.

Shout out loud against the false for it’s they, who are wrong not we.
