GIRL AT THE AIRPORT

CSI AIRPORT , MUMBAI

Huge structures , lifts and elevators everywhere , the Mumbai airport was a class of its own , it was not surprising to see the place crowded as it is the busiest airport in india , for a middle class guy like me everything in the airport was worth taking a selfie with, the departure boards showing the timings to flights to various international destinations , the planes which were taxing near the runway , everything in the airport was awesome . As I made my way past various security checks within the airport I came across people of different nationalities , people whom the common man doesn’t see , every traveller had a story of his own , while some moving out of town to visit their near and dear ones , while others were moving to some exotic place for an adventure , while a few others were moving out of the country in pursuit of their , while some looked calm their were others who had an ocean of emotions on their faces . I made past all those people to reach the checkin counter of jet airways , just a look and lo !!! the receptionist she was more beautiful than anything in the airport , suddenly everything appeared to be going in slow motion , the departure boards were changing the destinations slowly , people who were walking fast now appeared to be slowing down , I could hear my heartbeat , I almost went into a trance looking into her deep dark eyes , when suddenly her sweet voice disturbed my chain of thoughts , “sir , can I have your ticket and ID ?? “ she asked smiling at me , damn it !! she looked more beautiful when she smiled , I grinned back at her and produced my ticket and id , as I handed her over my id I could feel the softness of her hands , that touch sent down a shiver in my body , she was so delicate . as she was busy typing on her computer , I took this time to check her name plate “PARUMA THAKUR “ it read , as I read it I unknowingly uttered it a bit louder , having heard her name she looked at me in questioning way and asked “Sir did u call me ??” I was caught in a confusion as to what to say next , in a confused state of mind i replied “err I was just checking out your name its beautiful “ suddenly the world came down to my feet , I was scared as to how she would react , instead she smiled back and said “Thank you “ even though I knew she had her makeup on , but I could see she was blushing , she looked back at me once again after she adjusted her which was falling on her face , god !! she just looked like an angel , she saw me questioningly , I gestured at her what ?? she laughed at asked “sir don’t you want to checkin in your baggage ? “ opps !! oh yes I m sorry I was lost thinking about something “ I replied her in a bit embarrassed manner , I loaded my baggage onto the conveyor belt she estimated the baggage weight and gave me my boarding pass , she read aloud “FLIGHT 9W 345 GATE 49A SEAT 43 D SIR HAVE A SAFE JOURNEY “ I took my boarding pass and started to walk back I was feeling sad that I was leaving the counter , I looked back at her to have final glance of her , she saw me looking back and smiled at me , we waved goodbyes to each other , and then I finally left the place . I don’t know if I ll she that girl again , but those 10 minutes at that counter had a beautiful feeling to itself , an electric attraction of some sorts with a stranger whom I had seen for the first time , I knew nothing about this girl but felt a strange sense of belonging , incidents like this make life beautiful , life is a journey of wonderful events they say I realised this at India’s busiest airport
