Girl in the Mirror

There's this girl that I see
Always staring back at me.
Whenever we meet,
I see a lonely face—
Covered in pain,
While smiling at me.

One night, I saw her again.
But this time, she was in tears..
Crying silently, while hugging her knees.
It was painful to look
So I pretended she wasn't there;
Like I didn't even care.

Countless nights of crying,
Countless nights of pretending.
Thought she would've given up
From all of the pain she had.
But here she is, smiling.
As if those nights of agony seemed nothing.

I'm glad to see her again.
It's been a while since I last saw her face
This time, her smile reaches her eyes.
And with a meaningful look,
I smiled at this girl I see in the mirror and said;
"Cherish yourself a little for not giving up in all those weak moments."
