A starlit sky
Of the mountain blue
The music and mood
Suits perfect for two.
But she sits alone gazing high
Why and how the twinkle
Shines so bright!
Among them she wonders if
The apple of her eye
Giggles wild.
Mild flinching
Is it fear or frost?
Is it memory or creeping green moss?
Is it she, or her
Darling child's invisible claws
Clinging onto her
From up above
The world so high
The void that was left
When life paused?
'Oh mighty mountains!
Take my soul to my child,
I stand here as far as
I can try!'
A blue ocean
She cried.
