Hey! Have you ever speak in the public and you mispronounced a word then you become a laugh out loud topic?
If yes, I am surely it is a very, very embarrassing to you, I know that feeling, man. And if no, then could you please take a moment to read this?
When I was in my second year in college, we are always performed public speaking since my course is mass communication. Because of my excessive feeling of nervousness (indeed), I stuttered and mispronounce
words.
This word "hanging" in which I mispronounce it as "hinging". A very strong hinging. One of my classmate said to me what is "hinging" and he started to laugh and all of my classmates started to laugh also, including my crush. My face went red and I feel like I wanted to be eaten of the stage. But, since I have only 18 minutes to speak, and I have more topics to discuss to them, I correct the pronunciation and ask for the inconvenience. (lol)
After that, by the end of our class, my crush approached me. So, I don't know how to react and what to do since we are already in the outside of our room and my friends went somewhere else. (Nice friends)
He said hi, and I said hi also. (😍)
I noticed that he breathe deeply and cleared his throat and started to talk. He said, "Ang galing mo kanina sa report mo, ah!" (You're good in your report!)
And I said in my mind, how am I good if I always stuttering and worse, mispronounce a word? But I replied to him, "Really? Haha! Thanks!". I just can't believe that I have a conversation with my crush. (Lol)
"Pwede ba ako maka-"hinging" ng permission sayo na ligawan kita?" (Can I ask a permission to you to court you?) (He used that tagalog word "hingi" and since I pronounce the word "hanging" as "hinging", he used that.
He said that and I was like an infant who just came in the outside world. I am crying in my mind, in the deepest part of my heart, not really tears but it is a tears of joy! I can't believe my crush ask me that question! (😍)
Because of that "hanging" word, my crush use that word to say that!
But I'm not sure if what he is saying about his feeling to me were true. So, I am just standing and feel like I was hanging in the air.
