Gregarious child

Loneliness, a companion of time

Unbeknownst to me,sits by my side.

Silently arms encircle, muffle my cries

‘I don't want you!’,’why?’,’why?’.

‘Humans are gregarious’ I was told

‘You  are not alone. Don't cry!’,

‘I'll keep you company, till ur heartbeat lasts’

‘You are never alone, gregarious child!’.

Encircled, I look around

To happy souls, another's smile;

‘Gregarious you call me, silly fool !’,

‘Yet in a hole, you hold me from the world’.

Pushing off, I try to run

To the happy souls, the happy suns;

‘Leave your side,they will at some point’,

‘I'll be here till there is none’.

‘Silly child you are,little one’,

‘They'll leave; your heart will bleed;’

‘Come here in my arms ‘,

‘Protect, I will; so you shall never weep.’

At time’s bitterness, I did bleed.

The prediction was true in the end.

Yet more happy souls beckoned forth,

I took their hand for what it is worth.

‘Little one, again you will bleed.’

‘Come to me,to my side, ‘

‘Protect you I will,in my arms,’

From trickster souls and wicked knives, ‘

‘That I know, creature of time. ‘

‘I have bled and wept my heart.’

‘But it is the smiles, I see of happy souls,’

‘In the end, they always last. ‘
