With wrinkled skin,
withering cells
as I turn the hourglass upside down,
I wait for the magic to unfold and
take me back to my old, rusty town.
All young and juvenile, I set out determined to undo some mistakes,
risk my future and confess my age old love.
There he stood again,
the same blue shirt and the same hearty laughter,
heart beats fast hid my fears in the awkward and inopportune rain.
I ran and
hugged him tight, he hugged me back.
Time paused, making me grow weak on my knees and the deafening thumping
of my unruly heart broke the silence which had us engulfed magically.
Everything went black and all I could see was a flash of passing light.
Waking up on the same desk all of a sudden,
something felt right, something less burdened.
Was it real,
Was it a dream?
but those few seconds my life could feel,
the urge, the need of expressing one's fondness
because 100 years or not, the weight of an unspoken, unconfessed love,
is what makes your life strangled in a knot.
The rain drops fall, slide and are happy to lose them because they have people looking forward...
