Hourglass of Memories.

Info

With wrinkled skin,

withering cells

as I turn the hourglass upside down,

I wait for the magic to unfold and

take me back to my old, rusty town.

All young and juvenile, I set out determined to undo some mistakes,

risk my future and confess my age old love.

There he stood again,

the same blue shirt and the same hearty laughter,

heart beats fast hid my fears in the awkward and inopportune rain.

I ran and

hugged him tight, he hugged me back.

Time paused, making me grow weak on my knees and the deafening thumping

of my unruly heart broke the silence which had us engulfed magically.

Everything went black and all I could see was a flash of passing light.

Waking up on the same desk all of a sudden,

something felt right, something less burdened.

Was it real,

Was it a dream?

but those few seconds my life could feel,

the urge, the need of expressing one's fondness

because 100 years or not, the weight of an unspoken, unconfessed love,

is what makes your life strangled in a knot.
