No-cost Cavity Wall Insulation grants can be used to cover the full cost of Cavity Wall Insulation professionally installed. Also, the property must be owned by the owner or rented.
This grant funding is part of a scheme called the Energy Companies Obligation, (ECO), which was originally part of the Government's Green Deal Energy Efficiency Program. The grants come from the major energy suppliers and do not need to be repaid.

Other criteria include whether you own or rent your property from a private landlord. If you own 50% or more of the property, we cannot help Council or Housing Association tenants.
Also, the property must be occupied. The property must be occupied, i.e. not vacant or in the process of refurbishment. Extensions are not eligible for grants because the wall area that is to be insulated must equal at least 60% of the property's size. We can however arrange for a survey and quote. A majority of brick properties built between 1924-and 1982 are likely to have a cavity between the two bricklayers or between bricks and blocks that were not filled with insulation at the time of construction.
Building regulations changed after 1982 and now require insulation to be installed in the Cavity during construction. Before 1924, most properties did not have a cavity.
Cavity Insulation was not installed in many properties built after 1982. We can help with grants in most cases if the property was built before 2005.

Cavity Wall Insulation will not be installed in
• Your property was constructed before 1924, or after 2005.
• Insulation has been applied to the walls.
• You do not live in a flat, and you don't have the permission of your neighbors.
• Any signs of dampness are visible on the outside or inside of the walls.
• Timber/steel frame, concrete, or stone are the options for this property.
• Ventilation is not sufficient and cannot be fitted.
