How do I say..I do..

Info

My lovely daughter, the pearl of my eye,

You don’t know how much I sigh,

But it’s time now I give you off to a noble man, without a cry..

My dear daddy, the first man I ever loved,

I don’t want to go away with any unknown man.

It scares me to grow from a girl into a woman,

It haunts me to think I would fail at the chores..

My darling daughter, the flower that has bloomed to perfection,

I am not saying that the new life would be a gift of convenient reflection,

But try to think of it not as chore, but your own pretty garden.

Water it with your love, which is galore,

And the Sun will be kinder to you now, more than before..

My beloved mother, the woman I wish I become even an ounce of,

How would I spread the mirth all alone?

I will now be a grown up to someone else's parents, no more a child,

It scares me to think I would have no one to share a jibe..

My sweetest sister, the best friend I have,

Don’t chide away your jocular vibes!

Your new unfortunate companion ought to laugh at your jokes silly,

And if he dozes off in misery, you know my number to dial in a jiffy..

My adorable brother, the most precious gift I have,

How am I to find that comfort with a stranger?

I will be a lady to him and need to talk with discretion..

It scares me to think I can no longer be me at all times..

My imbecile friend, the foolishly adorable of all I have,

Remember the time I cried all night?

And you sat holding my snotty handkerchief by my side!

Just be your usual supportive chirpy self,

He doesn’t know he is getting an awesome friend..

My dearest buddy, the lovely family I got to choose,

I don’t know how to be beyond a friend, a wife to him,

And take him as my husband and still be friends with him,

It worries me to think if we will be able to nurture us with the needed love..

My dear sweetheart, allow me to call you that,

Believe me I am as scared as you to tread on this new path.

I know there might be thorns and not roses forever,

But I promise to bring the real me with all my heart for us,

And I hope you arrive with your beautiful true self,

And together let’s take a vow towards our better and happier selves

My dear sweetheart, it feels so right when you call me that,

I do realize journey of life is a maze to contentment,

And I promise to hold hands through its twists and turns.

Yes, let’s take a vow towards a better us

Towards a lifetime of friendship, respect, trust and love!
