How Long Do You Need a DJ for a Wedding?

After food, music, and entertainment are what lights up a wedding. For that reason, you need a lively mc and a DJ. If the two gel well, then be assured your wedding will be memorable. It is not easy to find a DJ who delivers what you want. The positive news is that it is possible.

The time a DJ will spend playing music on your wedding day will depend on the setting of your ceremony. There are different types of weddings people choose.

One may settle for a garden wedding, a church wedding or a combination of both.

Church Wedding

For a church wedding, a DJ will be needed only in the second half of the ceremony. Most church weddings have their reception run from around 2 pm to 6pm. On average, that is around 4 to 5 hours.

Doing a church wedding will save you DJ costs. You only need a DJ for the 5 hours of reception and that’s it. For the morning church session, there is no need for a DJ .

Garden Wedding

A garden wedding has become popular of late. Many wedding mates are forsaking church weddings for garden weddings. One of the reasons for this abandonment is the strict rules churches give their followers.

While some people just want to have a good time on their big day, church leaders want them to adhere to strict rules. This scares away many. As a result, garden weddings have seen a major rise in numbers in the past decade.

Garden wedding is mostly about food, music, dancing and having a good time. This means the DJ is as vital as the wedding mates. Without the DJ and a vibrant mc, the wedding will bore everyone.

A garden wedding mostly starts at 10 or 11 am, then goes up to dusk. This is around 8 hours of pure entertainment. For all this time, you will need a DJ.

A good wedding does not end at the fall of the sunrise. Instead, people take a few hours break and resume entertainment at around 10 pm. This evening extension may last up to dawn. That is another 8 hours.

It depends on the plan. If you go for a private evening party then you will need to hire a DJ for an extra 8 hours. The other option is going to a public venue for your evening party and save the money you’d have paid the DJ.

The Bottom Line

Engog Scotland is one of the reliable wedding dealers you can get online. You need a DJ for 4 to 8 hours on a normal wedding. The period may extend to 16 hours if a private evening party is included.
