What is a WIFI Camera?

Wireless Fidelity Camera or WIFI cameras are the latest addition to the growing roster of digital cameras available on the market. These offer great convenience primarily in sharing captured photos from the camera to your choice of storage medium. ●If you want to upload your photos immediately, you will have to find an internet connection especially if you are in public.

●Depending on what website you uploaded your photos, the photos might be accessible to the public.

How to Choose the Right WIFI Camera

1.Pick Branded Cameras - This is obviously one of the best ways to start when hunting for your camera. Brands like Sony, Canon, Nikon offer a wide variety of options.

2.Warranty Period - Ask for the duration of the warranty and what the warranty covers to see if the terms satisfy you.

3.Educate yourself - When looking for cameras, watch and read reviews about different models. List down the features you are looking for in a camera and make comparisons.

4.Ordinary User or Serious? - If you don’t intend to use the camera for serious photography and you just plan to use it to capture holiday memories, then there’s no need to invest in expensive lenses. Rather, use that to purchase a decent camera instead. If you are serious about using it for serious photography or videography work then your choice of camera and accessories is an entirely new game but the WIFI feature is definitely a handy feature to have especially when transferring lots of data. But to take note of the possible drop in image quality when transferring over WIFI.

The Other Kind of WIFI Cameras

So far we have been talking about your typical everyday camera you use to take pictures but what about the other type: Wireless Security Cameras? A lot of what we’ve discussed so far still applies like how data is stored. How should you go about in picking the right camera to secure your home or place of business?

Since it’s wireless, the biggest concern will be batteries. A decent quality camera should last several months for typical use on an average of 5 minutes of recording per day. Most cameras capture at 1080p so capture quality should still be good. Other things to look for are the features like infrared recording and the ability to turn the camera around at different angles. Some cameras automatically pan horizontally in order to capture more or do you prefer a camera that’s only focused at a particular spot?
