How to Clean a House the Right Way - The Easy Way!

Whenever someone tells you that they can do a better job at cleaning than you can, you know they’re probably full of it. They might have a nice couch and cute kids, but if they don’t know how to keep a house clean, they’re useless. In this blog post, we’ll explore exactly what it means when someone tells you that they can do a better job at cleaning than you can. We’ll also walk you through the 5 steps that will help make sure your home is never so clean that it feels like you didn’t even work for it.

For 25 years Angela Brown owned and operated one of the largest independently owned cleaning companies in the Carolinas. Since 2016 she's been training and consulting full-time with cleaning companies in 31 countries and millions in revenue. She is the founder of Savvy Cleaner Training for house cleaners and maids.

Define the Problem

Let’s start with the most obvious one and finish with the most difficult one. Let’s say you have a problem with a certain item in your house that you’re constantly cleaning. But you don’t know how to get rid of it. The first step is to define the problem you’re trying to solve. What is it that you’re trying to get rid of? Why? Why not? These will sound simple enough, but they’re pretty difficult to clean. It’s not just your body that’s dirtier when you’re not working; it’s your mind as well. You have to clean your brain too! Most people have a hard time identifying what problem they’re trying to solve. It could be a financial problem, a health problem, a relationship problem, an environmental problem, or any other problem that affects your mental health.

Set Short-Term Goals

You might have a monthly Clean the House tip that you want to give, but you don’t know how to make it happen. Where should you start? We all have different needs and what our “comfort zone” is. Some people can clean a house in a day, while others need a more restorative way to clear their minds. Here are a few short-term goals that will help you get started Light cleaning every other day. One month, two months, three months, and even longer!

Create a Calendar of Events

You might have a problem with your kids cleaning up the house at the same time that you are. That doesn’t mean that you have to clean the entire house at the same time. You just have to clean the biggest part of it. You can start by writing down which sections of your house need attention and which don’t. This will make it much easier to pinpoint which cleanups are needed and which don’t. To make it easier, write them down so that you know what is “on the calendar,” and what is “not on the calendar.”

Build Trust with Your Child

Your child might seem like a nice enough kid, but as soon as he or she starts showing some dirt, it’s obvious that they don’t trust you to do the job. You will probably never know how to tell if your child is trustworthy. Sometimes they will say things that you don’t want them to say, and sometimes they will do something that you don’t want them to do. Here are a couple of ways that you’ll know if your child is trustworthy: - They will put pride in their words, even when they’re physically and verbally attacking you. - They will use words like “deserved,” “pulled,” “influenced” or “attacked” when they’re mocking you. - They will always put the “to do” list first in their minds, even if they realize that it’s “not a priority” for them right now. - They will always have a backup plan if something unexpected comes up.

Have a “ purge ” in mind

Purging is a messy and difficult process, but it’s necessary if you want to get rid of a lot of dirt in your house. First, you want to remove as much dirt as possible from your living space. Then you want to cleanse your brain (the place where dirt is located) to make it less likely to become dirty. And finally, you want to prepare your home for the next stage. You’ll need to “purge” your home, meaning that you will remove all dirt and dust, but behind the scenes, you’ll be doing some magic.

Conclusion

Now it’s over to you to clean your house. It’s the most important homeowner’s responsibility to keep their home clean. It’s not just about the cleanliness of the house itself; it’s about your relationship with your children and your family. Your house should be a beautiful thing, not a pile of dirt. The only way to keep your house clean is to do your part - to clean your home as soon as you walk in the door. Furthermore, it’s important to remember that you don’t have to do this all by yourself - there are family members (and friends) who will help you out in any way they can. So, don’t stress about it - everyone has a hand in keeping your house clean. And everyone will “re-purge” your home when they’re done “purging” it.
