How to Install HVAC System

Steps to Install a HVAC System:

Calculating the Load:

The first thing to determine when installing a HVAC system is how much space your unit needs to cover. Find a Suitable Location:

Also, find a perfect location for the return air box and ducts, diameter plenum, air supply tubes, refrigerant lines, and condensate drain lines.

Cut the Return Air Opening:

The next step is to cut the return air opening. The cut is based on the size and dimensions of the return air opening, then the fan coil is made to pass through the opening. The return air box is designed to fit between the joints, which are 16 inches in the center with a 14-inch width. Do not install the return air box until the installation is complete because the materials used for the installation are passing through this opening.

Building a Platform:

Construct a simple platform that is based on the size of the fan coil unit. It is better to use the 2/8-inch stud lumber and a minimum of ½-inch plywood for the construction of the platform. Use the isolation strips under the unit for the best performance. It is not necessary to secure the fan coil unit separately to the platform because the weight of the unit can hold the fan coil unit in a correct position.

Attach Supply Plenum Ring:

The supply plenum ring should be several inches lower than the bottom of the fan coil unit. This helps the fan coil unit to move faster to the edge of the platform in order to accommodate the plenum ring. Attach the plenum ring to a square opening with four provided screws and make sure to attach the plenum ring gasket to the fan coil cabinet.

Connect Condensate Drain and Refrigerant Lines:

Connect the condensate drain trap to the fan coil unit and run it according to the local codes. Also, connect the refrigerant lines from the outdoor condensing unit to the indoor fan coil unit.

Install all the Components:

Install all the components of your system and make sure they are connected with the ductworks properly. Ensure the ductworks are properly insulated and sealed by using an insulation material. To get the best quality insulation material for the HVAC ductwork, it is important to use the insulation cutter machine. Check for the power source. Without proper and safe power, your entire HVAC system will fail to function properly.
