How to Look Slim? Midi Dress is Best Option for You

Info

Plains and prints

Midi dresses are available in shops that vary from different colors and patterns to choose from. If you are some women who like it plain and simple, block colors create a uniform image of the body and emphasizes curves. For a color, darker shades will make you slimmer than light ones. I always pick neutral shades such as black because it never goes out of style and makes me look thin, but underlines curves. For those who like to be more playful with designs, geometric patterns for a midi dress is the best option. The basic tip for every pattern is that vertical lines will make you appear longer and slimmer while horizontal lines will to otherwise. Also, pick a dress where the designs cover curvy areas such as in the belly area.

Neckline and sleeves

Women who have a large bust and broad arms can also benefit from wearing a midi dress. Since midi dress hides the lower part well, choosing the design for the top is another way to look slim. A Midi dress with long sleeves is a good choice to cover those large areas. For the neckline, you may opt to pick something revealing at the top to add sexiness to the rather conservative hem line and to draw the attention away from the areas which are not that lean. You may also try to use cover-ups such as a tight blazer worn over sleeveless midi, to cover the upper body and make it look slim.

Skirts and shoes

Midi dresses only refer to a certain length of the hemline, so it means that any style of skirt that falls mid-calf or longer is a midi. There are a lot of cuts to choose from, from A line, pleated, flowing or a bodycon. I suggest that picking the right skirt style must be based on where you will use it. For formal occasions, A-line and pleated would work. For romantic occasions, a flowing midi dress is a good pick, and if you are going to a party after working, a bodycon is the best option. Fitted skirts will of course make you look sexier by showing off curves; flowing ones will tend to hide broad legs and big hips. For shoes, flats are a no-no. Always wear heels because it adds height and elongates the body.
