How to Take Care of Your New Tattoo

Info

The design of the tattoo you had in your head has now become a reality by getting a new tattoo on your skin. You can get a tattoo on any part of your body. If you get Unique Sparrow Tattoos, their design and style are suitable for your hand sleeve, chest, arm, etc. Taking good care of your new tattoo after you get it, will help it to heal quickly. In this article, we are going to discuss some caring tips to take care of your new tattoo.

Follow Your Artist’s Advice:

After you got your first tattoo, ask your tattoo artist about the aftercare instructions. These instructions will vary for different artists and sometimes they will have different ideas of what heals the best. Listen to their instructions carefully and make sure to follow them in order to avoid severe infections. Most of the tattoo artists will have a leaflet with their aftercare advice printed out ready for you to take away.

Gently Wash Your Tattoo for the First Time:

The bandage that your tattoo artist applied on the tattoo must be kept for at least a few hours. Remove the bandage carefully and gently wash the tattoo area with lukewarm water and antibacterial or antimicrobial soap. This removes the traces of the blood, plasma, or leaked ink. Avoid holding your tattoo directly under the flowing water. Use a clean, dry paper towel on your tattoo to make it dry. Avoid rubbing your tattoo with a paper towel as it causes more irritation to your skin.

Apply a Layer of Moisturizing Cream:

Once your tattoo is fully dry, apply some moisturizing cream to your tattoo. You should apply a very thin layer and pat gently until it is absorbed by your skin. Ask your tattoo artist what they are recommended for your skin. Make sure not to use petroleum-based products like Vaseline, because they are heavy and may clog your skin pores. Avoid rewrapping your tattoo once it is clean and moisturized.

Avoid Direct Sunlight:

Avoid exposing your tattoo the direct sunlight. The harmful UV rays of the sun can cause your skin to blister and fade away some colors from your tattoo. You can use sunscreen to prevent your tattoo from fading once your tattoo gets healed.

Wait for the Healing Time:

Healing time depends on the size and design of your tattoo. A small line design tattoo takes some weeks to heal whereas a complex, larger design tattoos take several months. Make sure to follow the aftercare instructions for a few months to make the right heal.

Conclusion:

Your tattoo artist will help you by giving the instructions to take care of your new tattoo. So, try to follow the instructions to avoid serious bacterial infections. Take their advice seriously to ensure that your tattoo heals very correctly.
