Knowing how to use dry shampoo can save you a lot of time and effort. Dry shampoos are especially convenient on crazy weekday mornings when you have to rush to the office or do your morning errands and have absolutely no time to wash your mop navigate here. Your powdered shampoo can absorb the excess oil and dirt that makes your locks look dull and limp. It also removes the smell of unwashed hair, as well as gives your tresses volume and bounce.
There's a science to using dry shampoo on your hair, though. Too much will make your hair look dull. Too little of it will make your locks look unkempt. And if you use the wrong type of powdered shampoo, it will look too obvious that you haven't washed your hair. So how do you use powder shampoo? Read on and find out.
1. Consider the color of your tresses when you choose a powder shampoo. If you have light-colored hair, you can use untinted dry shampoo. The powder will blend right into your hair. If you have darker locks, though, you may want to use a tinted shampoo whose shade matches the color of your hair. In doing so, you won't have to worry about bits of shampoo showing in your tresses in case you forgot to brush it out completely.
2. If you can't find a tinted dry shampoo that closely matches your hair color, go ahead and use untinted powder shampoo. However, you will have to exert some extra effort in making sure you've got the excess powder out of your mop before you leave the bathroom.
3. Wash your hands thoroughly before applying dry shampoo onto your scalp and hair. With your hands clean, you won't be adding to the dirt and oil that's already in your tresses.
4. If your powder shampoo comes in an aerosol bottle, spray the shampoo directly onto your roots. If you're using an ordinary container, scoop them into the palm of your hand. One tablespoon of the shampoo is usually enough to clean your scalp and roots.
5. Rub your scalp vigorously with your fingers. This will ensure that the dry shampoo will absorb the excess sebum and dirt in your tresses. Keep massaging your scalp until the dry shampoo is completely dissolved.
6. Brush your hair. Brushing will get rid of any powdered shampoo left in your hair. It will also keep your hair shiny and smoothen out all the tangles from your locks.
7. Apply leave-on nourishing hair conditioner to your roots. The conditioner will add shine and volume to your hair. It will also give your roots and scalp the nutrients they need to keep your hair healthy. Make sure that you apply your conditioner only to your roots. Excess conditioner will make your hair hang limp and heavy.
8. Style your hair in whatever way you want. If your hair seems dull, put some hair serum on the ends of your hair and only at the ends.
Dry shampoo is a very convenient product you ought to have if you're often too busy to wash your hair. By knowing how to use dry shampoo and having the right product for your hair, you can enjoy clean-feeling hair for days on end.
