Hunger

A young boy sat by his window looking out his window. Dark circles colored under his eye lids and his mouth watered. Eyes started sparkle from a dim blue to a bright yellow. Pink and blue clouds of sweetness floated around him. Birds of creamy white fluttered by and soft foiled red flowers decorated the landscape. He ran, jumped and nibbled.

Lettuce leaves floated around him as the basil bees buzzed by dripping white goodness on the leaves. A salad. Tree of tender beef gave away to his gentle cutting. A feast he was having till he heard her again.

A young girl in a sugary dress and stick of bread in her hand grinned at him. Her eyes rubies like gumdrops, sweet and kind. Skin soft and white like marshmallows, hair dark as chocolate but lushes like the warmest smoothest drink ever. Lips pursed with soft pink gum like flavors made the boy smile at her. She giggles putting out her hands to grab his. "You hunger."

Nodding he smiled when he felt her soft embrace. "I hunger always."

A bang, the boy looked down to see a half empty tray of food not enough to fill his gut for the night. He looked out the window eyes drooping once more.

Same world he once imagined became more real. More natural for him. His hunger never bothered him when he was there. The girl made sure he was full and happy all the time. They run and play till the get pekish. Then repeat. His world never was dull. Lemony flavored sun dropped down to show a white cookie moon. They counted the little sugar stars in the sky. Counted the shooting syrup. Held hands and enjoyed each other company.

"You hunger?"

"No... not anymore." He smiled kissing her cheek. Another bang.

The boy dark circle eyes looked at the food. It now had a little to now food at all. His stomach protest to sleep again. Rest in that world his sugary and food happy princess.

"Are you hungry?"

Eyes popped open at the voice the sounded close to him. Half of him told his mind it was his dream world but he knew better. "What?"

A little girl, pale, eye dark brown eyes and hair smiled at him. "Are you hungry?" In her hands was a little bag and the other holding two small apples.

"Y-yes I hunger." Blushing he coughed slightly."I mean yes I am hungry." Looking at her smile she climbed onto his bed opening her bag giving half of her ham sandwich and juice box. He looked at his feast feeling tears.

The boy name was Morris Robinson. He had been in a orphanage for five years, he is now eleven. The orphanage never liked to feed him like the other kids. He broke his leg and was bed ridden for a while. He body lost weight and eyes shown it. Eyes always pleading for more food.

His little sugary princess is named Jessica Jealon. Her parents died and she is only nine of this year yet just as kind as his little princess. She knew of his problem but never could find a good way to give him some food. Jessica smiled more at him as he ate happily savoring each flavored.

"I'll share my food with you till we both get adopted."

Morris looked at and couldn't help not to smile. Hugging her tight his eyes burst into tears feeling her hug back.

Each day, each month they shared food and got to know each other. Until one day. Morris and Jessica were finally adopted but to different homes.

Years went by since two new friends last saw each other. Ever made contact. Of course on some days they missed each other when they were in a room apart. They went to different school lived on different levels of society. Jessica was adopted into a rich family while Morris was with a low middle class family. Of course life was good and filled with food.

Till fate brought them together. A day before Jessica was asked to be married by her current boyfriend; she went to see a restaurant to see which would be suited if she does marry. Rumors had that the restaurant was 5 stars but all generous around with the motto, 'If you hunger, then pick a price to pay'. Jessica stared at the sign thinking back to her old friend then felt the rumbling of her stomach. Blushing faintly she sighed about to head out to get something around her budget until...

"Are you hungry miss?" The young woman faced the deep yet joyous voice.

The owner was a kind man, tall, well built, bright shining blues and dark brown hair almost black smiled at her gently. "It is on the house."

Tears filled her eyes looking at the strong man that use to be the frail little boy and how he became this. "Morris... you own this place?"

Hugging her he smiled, "Yeah all because you gave me some of your food. Also a little bit of my imagination."

Arms wrapped around his waist grinning. "Oh Morris..." Using a napkin near by she wiped her tears being led to a table.

The two sat there talking and catching up. Jessica mind went into overdrive at his growth to success, his dreams and all because of her. She felt shy and embarrassed. Laughs was shared till the restaurant itself was nearing to a close. For a moment eyes locked and smiles was shared. Morris walked her home listening to her story to the point of being reunited with him again.

Both stopped at her home with a black sedan in the front.

"I guess, I'll see you around."

"Yeah." Jessica looked at him once more hugging him tighter. "We will see each other around. Count on it." Hurrying inside to avoid her boyfriend complaining about coming home so late. Morris smiled faintly walking back to where he parked his own vehicle.

'My sugary princess.'
