I have scars on my face
And scars on my feet
I have scars everywhere
But will you love what's underneath?
When I'm walking on that road
Where the mud is just too high
Will you gape at my face
And still be my guide?
And when I'm way too far gone
That I can't feel inside
Will you hide from my tears
Or bring me alive?
And when my feet are so numb
That I can't even fly
Will you run from my wings
Or am I to be your pride?
The world will be so hard
When they laugh and mock me
Then will you lock me away
Or will you set me free?
When I get more, new scars
Will you be so repulsed
That you dump me someplace
So, inside the pain too will hurt?
Do you swear to accept me
For I have way too many wrongs
Done to me and to my world
Will you believe- it made me strong?
When my world's tilting down
And sky is underneath
Will you trust me to fly
Will you hold onto me?
For, I have scars on my face
Scars that play my song
But they're my map, it's my face
They're my scars, so I sing along
