If the planet had a voice

I am the earth.

When my sanity breaks,

the land quakes

and my fiery rage bursts out

in streams of hot lava.

When I cry,

My eyes puff and

pour torrents of tears below.

In bouts of anger,

I sprinkle lightning and thunder.

In happiness,

I soothe the warm with a gentle trickle.

When I am happy,

the soil blooms with greenery

and I nourish the life forms

who thrive about me.

But human, you know all these already.

With your invented tools,

you'd unravel the truth

behind your ancestors' tales.

Since you know, you'd brush me off

as a phenomenon, you can fathom

with the right time and tools.

And with your more advanced tools,

you're starting to search for a new place to stay

instead of mending the many gashes

you've caused me.

YOU THINK YOU CAN GET AWAY FROM ME?!

A ruse, I tell you.

Dear child, I scoff at your ignorance.

What you hold in your hands is just as shallow

as the distance, your chariot has reached in my watery depths.

You don't know me yet.

But, in time, you will.
